Many schools and universities were able to move all teaching online within a short time. However, this flexibility was not shared by all educational institutions, or all students. Students from vulnerable communities did not enjoy the same access to learning as those from more affluent schools. The mental and emotional health of many learners, their families and teachers suffered from feelings of isolation. When the national borders closed to international students, departments set up to support their academic language learning have closed. This leaves emergent bilinguals without the linguistic support promised in the New Zealand Curriculum. This in turn endangers the academic success of another vulnerable community. 2021-05-23T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2021 Universitas Pekalongan https://proceeding.unikal.ac.id/index.php/icunikal2021/article/view/632 CONTRIBUTED TECHNOLOGIES DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC: PERSPECTIVE OF ENGINEERS 2021-05-24T01:49:32+00:00 Wahyu Caesarendra [email protected] The novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has changed the world especially has led to dramatic loss of human life worldwide. Potential default risk happens to the company when the country where that company operated is in the economic crisis. Indonesia have been attacked by economic crisis since February 2020 for the second time after 1998’s biggest economic crisis. To measure the potential default on companies, Almant Z-Score commonly used by analyst or risk management team in economic crisis. But for the crisis caused by the pandemic is different than the crisis caused by the monetary factor. To find another alternative of measurement where the accuracy as the first priority, in this research, the researcher proposed to test the Equity Duration Models. This models result “predicted” can be the right tools and give the more accurate result. The proposed tools used to measure the potential default of the samples, selected from the stock listed in LQ45 (the most active stocks and have a strong financial capability) and the stocks classified as the Suspension for Debt Payment Obligation in 2019 - 2020. We selected the stocks during 2019 to reflect the condition before pandemic Covid-19 and selected from 2020 to reflect the stocks in pandemic Covid-19 era. The result shows that both of methods showed us the same results. The first group (LQ 45) was mostly on Non-Distress or normal duration, and the second group (the stocks in Suspension for Debt Payment Obligation) was mostly on Distress or extended duration. Therefore, the investor might not perceive using only one method because its accuracy might vary 2021-05-23T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2021 Universitas Pekalongan https://proceeding.unikal.ac.id/index.php/icunikal2021/article/view/626 INFLUENCE OF SALARY SATISFACTION AND ORGANIZATIONAL COMMITMENT TOWARDS TURNOVER INTENTIONS DURING PANDEMIC COVID-19 SITUATIONS 2021-05-24T01:52:28+00:00 Kenita Putri [email protected] Maria Jacinta Arquisola [email protected] The purpose of this study is to identify the influence both simultaneously and partially of salary fairness, presence of benefits, affective commitment, and continuous commitment toward turnover intention during the pandemic covid-19 situation. Therefore exposure is very limited. This means that it is within these lesson hours that teachers should facilitate the learning of the four English skills, namely listening, speaking, reading and writing. As the entry to the world of English printed materials are used and because of that reading becomes the main classroom activities. This poses a problem for English teachers, do they have to focus on the content or the language of the reading material. If we have to answer this question we have to know that the main objective of the learning process is to provide students with language knowledge and skill. So theoretically, priority should be on the students' language growth. This means the accumulation of vocabulary mastery and grammar knowledge. But the two language components itself cannot be studied in isolation, they should learned from the language in use. Because reading is the entry into the English world for students, it should facilitate the acquisition of elements which will later be used in listening, speaking, reading itself and writing. Therefore, the words in the reading material should treated in terms of their meanings, sounds or pronunciation, spellings and uses. There should also the systematic discussion or explanation of the grammar of the reading material. The combination of grammar and vocabulary is very useful for the extraction of meaning of something which is heard and written and also for the expression in the form speech and writing. With this integrated approach students will acquire the basics for other skills than reading itself. Of course this does not mean that the content of the reading material should be addressed. The content can be regarded as the gimmics. Just like when we eat. We eat because we have to absorb the nutritious value of the food, but if we just take that we may lose appetite, so it has to be accompanied with taste. Without taste eating will be dull, without nutrition eating will be useless. The taste is the content and the nutrition is the language elements of the the reading material. The data was gathered from six different schools in Bandar Lampung by observing 6 English teachers' teaching learning process and asking in-depth information from the interview. The findings show that almost all teachers show good understanding on the importance of pedagogical competence for their teaching performances and tried to implement their understanding on pedagogical competences during their teaching. Moreover, some of the teachers still need to improve their teaching by doing self-evaluation of their teaching so that they may learn from their own evaluation to provide better teaching and implementation of the pedagogical competence. In addition, they argued that all components in pedagogical competence should be collaboratively implemented when teaching so that later will result in students' better understanding of the materials. However, the implementation of this teaching and learning method seems to be quite far from being perfect. This certainly needs high attention from education experts as this method offers good opportunity for the learning classes to develop the twenty first century skills and characters; critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. A reading class is not out of the questions. A language teacher could apply a scientific based method in her teaching and learning activities easily by applying the scientific approach learning steps; observing, questioning, experimenting, associating, and networking. However, this quite common SQ3R/PQ3R reading technique could also be considered as scientific teaching and learning instructions. Implementing a reading class using either the scientific approach based learning steps or SQ3R/PQ3R is susceptible to develop the twenty first century skills as each step implemented would give ample opportunity for the teacher and students to develop their skills and characters Copyright (c) 2021 Universitas Pekalongan https://proceeding.unikal.ac.id/index.php/icunikal2021/article/view/669 THE IMPACT OF THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC ON EDUCATION, ESPECIALLY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LEVEL; EFFECTIVENESS OF YOU TUBE AS AN ONLINE LEARNING MEDIA 2021-06-08T01:50:54+00:00 Rahmatika [email protected] Covid 19 pandemic causes the transformation of several aspects in Human interaction being limited.Changes also occur in the world of education. The world of education transfroms from face-to-face into online learning. This study aimed to determine the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic in the world of education, especially at the elementary school level and the effectiveness of You Tube learning media as a solution to the education transformation due to Covid 19.This research used qualitative research methods with data analysis techniques. The researcher found that the impact of Covid 19 in education, especially primary school children, was the limitations of parents in guiding the learning process because they were busyso that you tube learning media became an alternative learning choice for schools Copyright (c) 2021 Universitas Pekalongan https://proceeding.unikal.ac.id/index.php/icunikal2021/article/view/670 APPLICATION OF ANDRAGOGY PRINCIPLES TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC PERIOD PARENTING PROGRAM; CASE STUDY AT QOLBUN SALIM EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION 2021-06-08T02:06:49+00:00 Reni Suwarni [email protected] Jajat S Ardiwinata [email protected] Iip Saripah [email protected] This study aims to describe the implementation, constraints, and factors that must be considered in the parenting program during the Covid-19 pandemic at Qolbun Salim Early Childhood Education, Jatiendah Village, Cilengkrang District, Bandung Regency. Learning should be done online without direct physical contact to avoid the transmission and spread of Corona virus. Online learning is conducted in all subjects, including French language learning at SDIT Ar-Raudhah. This study aims to describe french language learning at SDIT Ar-Raudhah during the Covid-19 pandemic. How does learning take place? Are there any differences in objectives, books, media, and methods used before and during the Covid-19 pandemic?. Answering the above questions is used by the learning component according to Gulö (2002) as a reference in this study. The learning component is the purpose of teaching, teachers, students, subject matter, teaching methods, and teaching media. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The instruments in this study are observations, interviews, documentation studies, and impressions of messages from students about French language learning before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. The informant in this study was a French teacher at SDIT Ar-Raudhah, plus another informant, the principal of SDIT Ar-Raudhah. The results of this study show that the purpose of learning in French language learning before and during the pandemic is not much different, only in terms of achievements that must be adjusted to the reduced teaching time. Teachers must have more skills to be able to prepare for learning well, such as being able to make presentations with Power Point or making learning videos with the aim of making the child fully understand the explanations given. Students must learn to use a laptop or smartphone that makes the learning process less maximal because the radiation felt makes children quickly tired and bored, in addition to learning during the pandemic makes children need to be more focused during learning so as not to be left behind material. Teaching materials delivered by teachers in accordance with the syllabus that has been made before, so there is no difference before or during the pandemic. The method used in learning is still a communicative method in which children are asked to be more active in using French to communicate, but it is disrupted by unstable network conditions that make children sometimes have to go in and out, so they cannot follow the learning properly. The media used in presentation learning uses Power Point to explain teaching materials as well as to use video defense. This research can be used as an example for French teachers who want to learn French for children during the Covid-19 pandemic. This analysis still needs to be maximized in order to get results that fit the concept of learning that should be Copyright (c) 2021 Universitas Pekalongan https://proceeding.unikal.ac.id/index.php/icunikal2021/article/view/629 STUDENTS' CREATIVE THINKING IN SOLVING ECONOMIC PROBLEMS DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC 2021-05-24T01:51:15+00:00 Siti Rubai’ah [email protected] Disman [email protected] This study aimed to describe students' creative thinking in solving economic problems during the Covid-19 pandemic. Triangulation technique was employed to test the validity of the test. The results showed that high ability students had a level 3 of creative thinking. They were able to meet indicators of fluency and flexibility. The fluency indicator was characterized by students' ability to provide diverse and correct answers. On the other hand, flexibility indicator was marked by students' ability to use correct and different ways or approaches in solving economic problems. 2021-05-23T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2021 Universitas Pekalongan https://proceeding.unikal.ac.id/index.php/icunikal2021/article/view/642 POSITIVE LANGUAGE AS AN ALTERNATIVE IN ONLINE LEARNING IN COVID-19 PANDEMIC 2021-06-07T02:41:22+00:00 Siti Saudah [email protected] Suprih Ambawani [email protected] The implementation of online learning at the primary and secondary school during the Covid-19 still faces many problems. Parents often conduct verbal abuse to their children, therefore the use of positive language in online learning needs to be applied. The methods used in this research are: (1) Collecting data, searching for data from newspapers, journals, and online articles that match the problem to be studied; 2) Identifying data, selecting sources of data and information collected; 3) Classifying, which is trying to classify and understand further about the sources of data and information obtained in accordance with the issues discussed; 4) Analyzing, discussing the sources of data and information by interpreting the data that has been studied ; and 5) Conclusions, making conclusions from the results of the analysis. The results of this study show that: parents need to build communication with their children through positive diction / words by developing good behavior such as listening to children's opinions, speaking gently and friendly, giving motivation to their children to speak honestly and teaching the children to be wise, and polite and being patient with children as well. From the study it can be concluded that positive language based online learning is a creative learning innovation. By investigating how teachers interact with their students during online learning, the practice of teaching-learning Engish, and their perceptions of this, this study tackled this void. In this descriptive case study design, 6 participants were recruited, while the data were obtained from observation and semi-structured interview. The results showed that the teachers used the method of grammar translation to interact with the students and promote cognitive engagement, as well as active engagement. The teachers nevertheless claimed that teaching English online was difficult and challenging, although students admitted that they missed the time to visit their teacher in person. Since the teaching-learning process is a social and individual process, it needs a social context and the intense teacher-student relationship is very critical. Therefore, online interactions with intense relationships will stimulate the encouragement, cognitive growth, and creativity of children. 2021-05-23T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2021 Universitas Pekalongan https://proceeding.unikal.ac.id/index.php/icunikal2021/article/view/674 PANDEMIC: PROBLEMS AND ONLINE TEACHING EVALUATION AT PEKALONGAN UNIVERSITY 2021-06-08T03:21:19+00:00 Suryani [email protected] Zahro [email protected] Pradnya Permanasari [email protected] Siti As adah Hijriwati [email protected] Teguh Irawan [email protected] Health Emergencies that have been established since January 20, 2020 due to COVID-19, requires Pekalongan University as part of the world of education institution to also take a stand for the safety of the academic community through online learning and Work from Home.
