Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of capital market trend direction and the psychological condition of young investors on noise trader behavior. The criteria for respondents in this study are young investors domiciled in DKI Jakarta with an age range between 17 and 25 years, with a sample of 116 respondents and 100 respondents who match the respondent's criteria. Sample determination using the Lemeshow formula with a non-probability method. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive analysis methods through SMARTPLS v. 4.1.0.0 software. The results of this study indicate that the direction of capital market trends and the psychology of young investors have a significant influence on noise trader behavior. The data that has been tested shows that the variable direction of capital market trends has the greatest influence on noise trader behavior compared to the psychological variables of young investors. This shows that financial literacy knowledge about fundamental analysis and technical analysis is an important factor in suppressing noise trader behavior.
