Abstract

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Petarukan. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimen dengan post-test only control design. Tehnik pengambilan sampel menggunakan random cluster sampling menghasilkan dua kelas sampel yaitu kelas VIII A sebagai kelas kontrol dan VIII B sebagai kelas eksperimen. Analisis data akhir menggunakan uji efektivitas yaitu uji ketuntasan menggunakan uji-t dan uji beda rerata menggunakan uji-z. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kelas kontrol maka ditolak, sedangkan pada kelas eksperimen diperoleh hasil maka ditolak. dari perhitungan tersebut diperoleh bahwa rata-rata tes pemecahan masalah pada kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen telah mencapai KKM. Uji hipotesis kedua dilakukan uji Z untuk menentukan perbandingan antara kedua metode pembelejaran. Diperoleh hasil , maka ditolak. Yang artinya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis peserta didik melalui pendekatan RME lebih baik daripada pembelajaran konvensional. Berdasarkan analisis data akhir dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran melalui pendekatan RME efektiv untuk mencapai kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada materi persamaan linear dua variabel.

ABSTRACK

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach to the mathematical problem solving abilities of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Petarukan. The method used is quasi-experimental with a post-test only control design. The sampling technique using random cluster sampling resulted in two sample classes, namely class VIII A as the control class and VIII B as the experimental class. The final data analysis used the effectiveness test, namely the completeness test using the t-test and the mean difference test using the z-test. The results showed that the control class then was rejected, while in the experimental class the results were then was rejected. from these calculations, it was found that the average problem-solving test in the control class and the experimental class had reached the KKM. The second hypothesis test was carried out by the Z test to determine the comparison between the two learning methods. The result is hasil , then , is rejected. Which means that students' mathematical problem solving skills through the RME approach are better than conventional learning. Based on the final data analysis, it can be concluded that learning through the RME approach is effective in achieving students' mathematical problem solving abilities on the material of two-variable linear equations.
