UNSUR MELODRAMA PADA NOVEL 172 DAYS KARYA NADZIRA SHAFA
Abstract
This research aims to describe the elements of melodrama in the novel 172 Days by Nadzira Shafa. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. The data produced in this research is descriptive data, in the form of reading and taking notes on the novel 172 Days by Nadzira Shafa. The problem that researchers take from this research is to prove that there are elements of melodrama in the novel 172 Days. The initial stage was carried out using reading techniques to understand the story content from the narrative and dialogue in the novel 172 Days by Nadzira Shafa. Then the second is a note-taking technique, namely noting the narrative and dialogue of the novel 172 Days by Nadzira Shafa which contains elements of melodrama. The source of this research is the narrative in the novel 172 Days by Nadzira Shafa which is analyzed into elements of melodrama which produces analytical data which shows that there are elements of melodrama in the novel 172 Days by Nadzira Shafa in the form of 1) Characters: a. Zira (lose), b. Amer (pain), c. Kak Bela (between happiness and loss), (2) Plot: a. introduction of the situation (exposition), b. disclosure of events (complications), c. conflict, d. peak of conflict, e. solution. These results show that the novel 172 Days has elements of melodrama, namely characters who experience dramatic events and complex storylines.
