Abstract

Education is a fundamental aspect of human culture that continually evolves, though its quality may fluctuate with time. Higher education, particularly for undergraduate Industrial Engineering students, carries the mission to foster positive cultural development. In the context of Indonesia, an industrial nation where manufacturing drives economic growth, it is crucial to enhance technological knowledge among its populace. Design plays a vital role in manufacturing, driven by rapid innovation and fierce market competition. Thus, Industrial Engineering students must master both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, particularly in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software like SolidWorks, which is widely used in the industry. The training was conducted face-to-face, with instructors demonstrating design creation followed by participants. Training materials included modules and exercise sheets to aid understanding. An initial brainstorming session expanded participants'' awareness of the material, followed by an introduction to SolidWorks, including basic commands and tools. Participants were guided through creating designs from technical drawings and given independent tasks to solidify their learning. Pre-tests and post-tests measured participants'' knowledge before and after the training, with statistical analysis ensuring the validity and reliability of the results. The training, held at the Multimedia Lab of the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Majalengka, included 15 students and one student instructor. Pre-test results showed an average score of 71.33%, indicating room for improvement. After the training, the average post-test score increased to 96%, demonstrating a 65% improvement in understanding and skill. Statistical tests confirmed the normality and homogeneity of the data, supporting the reliability of the results. The training was highly effective, with all participants achieving the learning mastery threshold (100% completion) and an average material comprehension rate of 96%. This indicates that the training significantly enhanced the students'' competencies in using SolidWorks for engineering design, preparing them better for the challenges of the industrial sector.
