Abstract

This research is motivated by the low interest and value of students in writing fable stories, in grade VII students of MTs Maulana Maghribi Kandeman. The purpose of this study was to determine the process, improvement, and behavior changes of students in a positive direction in learning to write using the Mind Mapping model and image media. This study uses a type of classroom action research consisting of cycle I and cycle II. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting.

Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that there is a good learning process in learning to write using the Mind Mapping model and image media. The value of writing skills achieved in classical students in pre-cycle is 66.25, then in the first cycle increased by 6.75% with a classical average value of 73, with the total percentage of students by 64%. Furthermore, in the second cycle increased by 7.25% with an average classical value of 80.25 with a percentage of 84% of students in class VII MTs Maulana Maghribi who successfully reached the minimum completeness criteria. Increasing the value of writing fable story skills is also followed by changes in student behavior in a positive direction.
