STUDI LITERATUR: SISTEM KURIKULUM SANGGAR ANAK ALAM (SALAM) YOGYAKARTA YANG HOLISTIK DAN MEMERDEKAKAN

Abstract

The education of this country still shows its gloomy point by the formation of school functions which tend to give birth to exploitative children’s thinking construction and lead to the formation of dehumanistic student characters. Seeing the current state of education in Indonesia, Nadiem Anwar Makariem, B.A., M.B.A. sparked a movement of teacher who must be independent in making learning innovations by making students the main focus so as to be able to realize independent learning. One of the real forms of free education is Sanggar Anak Alam (SALAM), so there is a need for research that focuses primarily on the SALAM curriculum system. This study aims to knows and desribes of curriculum system that used for Sanggar Anak Alam SALAM) that holistic and liberating. This study included in decribtive by using qualitative approach. technique of analysis data that used of this study was literature review or library research. The result of the study conclude that SALAM curriculum system of Yogyakarta was holistic and liberating, so it is appropriate to get the nickname of a school with a curriculum that refers to free education (liberty).This is explained from the discussion of several points, namely the curriculum is used the learning cycle, which shapes students to be active, critical and participatory. The learning method used at SALAM does not hamper student creativity in learning because of it uses research methods. The character of students is that they don’t learn based on coercion. The habits done by SALAM outside of learning also refer to schools that are holistic and liberating, such as the Monday Market Legi, waste banks, and home visits, daily pickets, class agreements, after school. The evaluation used at SALAM is a workshop system, where students present directly in front of the facilitator and parents.
