Abstract

This study is based on the fact that there are still low mathematical connection abilities of students in SMP Negeri 1 Kisaran. The purpose of this study is to examine the improvement of students' mathematical connection skills that obtain the Alberta inquiry learning model. The study uses nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study were all students of SMP Negeri 1 Kisaran and as a sample students were selected from two classes using purposive sampling techniques to serve as the experimental class and the control class. The experimental class was given the Alberta model of inquiry learning and the conventional learning control class. The instruments in this study were tests of mathematical connection ability and observation sheets. The results showed that increasing the mathematical connection ability of students who obtained the Alberta inquiry inquiry learning was better than students who obtained conventional learning.
