THE ASPECT OF PATRIARCHAL CULTURE PRESENTED IN HIDDEN FIGURES‟S MOVIE

Abstract

Patriarchal culture is still exist untill now. We can found patriarchal culture in every aspect of life. There are many kinds of patriarchal cultures such as physical, sexual, verbal and non-verbal The aim of this research was to describe the aspect of patriarchal culture in the Hidden Figures’s Movie. The researcher used descriptive qualitative research as the design of this research. The primary data source was taken from the the Hidden Figures’s Movie. The secondary data sources were books, online journals, theses, research papers related to this research. The technique of data collection which the researcher used in this study was library research. The data was “the utterance” from Hidden Figures’s Movie. To analyze the Hidden Figures’s Movie, the researcher used a feminist study approach. Based on the result, the researcher found that there were two aspects that could be presented as patriarchal culture from the Hidden Figures’s Movie, they were social aspect and education aspect.
