Abstract

Sustainable investing is gaining more attention as awareness of environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors increases. In addition, financial literacy plays an important role in helping investors make more rational and informed investment decisions. Generation Z, as a group of young investors who dominate the capital market, is an important subject in this study. This study aims to analyze the role of ESG and financial literacy on the investment decisions of Generation Z in Sleman. This research uses a quantitative approach with survey techniques through questionnaires distributed to Generation Z in Sleman who have or are interested in investing. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS software to test the relationship between ESG, financial literacy, and investment decisions. The results showed that ESG and financial literacy have a positive and significant effect on investment decisions, both simultaneously and partially. The F test shows that the regression model is significant overall with an F value of 25,237 and sig. 0,000. Partially, the T test shows that ESG has a t value of 4.918 (sig. 0.000) and financial literacy has a t value of 2.651 (sig. 0.009). In addition, the coefficient of determination test results (R2 = 27.5%) indicate that there are still other factors that influence investment decisions outside the variables studied.
