Abstrak

The objective of this research is to examine the disparity in profitability and dividend optimization for companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange through the IDX Quality 30 stock index. The study involves testing variations in the profitability of companies both before and after their inclusion in the IDX Quality 30 index. The code for the IDX Quality 30 index is IDX Q30, which was first launched on August 10, 2020. The study is executed by utilizing the population encompassing profitability and dividend data extracted from the IDX Quality 30 index, one of the indices featured on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. This research constitutes a quantitative descriptive analysis employing secondary data derived from the financial reports of companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sampling technique employed in this study is non-probability sampling, specifically purposive sampling, focusing on companies listed in the IDX Quality30 index during the period from 2017 to 2022. The analysis of data in this study is conducted through the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, facilitated by the utilization of SPSS software. The analysis results reveal that the significance value obtained from the Wilcoxon test, denoted as Asymp. Sig (2-tailed), is greater than 0.05. Consequently, H0 is accepted, while the Ha is rejected. This suggests that there is no significant difference in the profitability and dividends of companies before and after their inclusion in the IDX Quality30 index. This suggests that considering companies listed in the IDX Quality30 index can be a viable choice for investors seeking to optimize their stock investments and maximize profits.
