MANAJEMEN KINERJA: PERSPEKTIF KARYAWAN DAN PIMPINAN

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to explore the differing perceptions of employees and leaders regarding the performance management system in organizations. Using a qualitative approach with thematic analysis, data were collected through in-depth interviews with 22 employees and 6 leaders at the Al Ummah Educational Foundation. The findings reveal that transparency and fairness in performance evaluations are generally acknowledged, yet gaps remain in how evaluation results are communicated to employees. Leaders perceive performance management as a strategic tool to enhance productivity, while employees often associate it with administrative burdens and evaluation-induced stress. Leadership support, particularly through training and guidance, is deemed critical but hindered by inconsistencies and resource limitations. Employees emphasize the need for more routine and constructive feedback to improve motivation and system effectiveness. This study recommends improving mechanisms for delivering evaluation results, enhancing leadership consistency, allocating adequate resources, and fostering more intensive two-way communication. The findings aim to bridge the perception gap and enhance the implementation of performance management systems in Indonesian organizations.
