KESEPADANAN DALAM PENERJEMAHAN KOLOKASI PADA MAJALAH ELEKTRONIK COLOURS

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the compatibility of the collocation equivalence in translation of lexical collocation found in the electronic magazine Colours. This research used approach by using content anyalisis method. The data source of this research is articles of electronic magazine Colours. There are 100 words of Indonesian collocation which are translated into English by using equivalence lexical theory. According to Baker (2018) equivalence of lexical can be seen from the change of the word class, orthographic word, and lexical meaning. There are 32 collocations which changed in word class, 8 collocation which change in meaning, and 32 collocation which equivalent in meaning, word class, and orthographic. The results of the study show that not all collocations in Indonesian are equivalent to translations of collocations in English. This is caused of Indonesian and English have different structures and cultures.
