Abstract
The teaching and learning process requires appropriate teaching models to assist its teachers to deliver materials
and help its students to understand the materials. As a result, the model helps to achieve the goal of learning.
The goal of Islam and Ilmu Pengetahuan subject expects its students to know, implement and synergize the
value of Islam and the knowledge of science and technology. The subject’s goal requires its students not only to
understand Islamic value, but also to synergize between the Islamic value and the science and technology.
Therefore, it is necessary to develop a model which is accordance with the subject goal of learning. Since the
model is urgently needed for both teachers and students, it is necessary to develop the model. Investigating the
need of teaching model for Islam and Ilmu Pengetahuan subject should be taken to find the necessity of students
for facilitating them towards the subject. Considering this emergency, this paper describes the investigation
result of students’ needs towards the model implemented in Islam and Ilmu Pengetahuan subject.
