EKSPLORASI KONSEP MATEMATIKA DALAM PERMAINAN TRADISIONAL INDONESIA

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi konsep-konsep matematika yang digunakan dalam permainan tradisional. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksploratif dengan metode yang digunakan adalah metode etnografi. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, serta studi literatur. Penelitian ini fokus pada tiga permainan tradisional yang dikenal di Pekalongan, yaitu permainan congklak, permainan engklek, dan permainan kelereng. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam permainan congklak terdapat konsep lingkaran, bola, bilangan, dan berhitung. Pada permainan engklek terdapat konsep bangun datar lingkaran, segitiga, dan segi empat, serta konsep peluang, dan konsep berhitung. Sementara itu, pada permainan kelereng terdapat konsep garis, bola, lingkaran, serta berhitung.

 

The purpose of this study was to identify mathematical concept applied in traditional games. The research was an exploratory study with ethnograpic approach. The data was collected through interview, observation, and literature study. The research focussed on three traditional games that played in Pekalongan. They are congklak games, engklek games, and marble games. The research showed that  there are some mathematical concepts in congklak games. That is concept about circle, sphere, number, and counting. Mathematical concepts were also found in engklek games. They are concept about circle, triangle, quadrilaterals, probability, and counting. Meanwhile, in marble games there are mathematical concepts about line, sphere, circle, and counting.
