Abstract

This research was motivated by the low ability of students to understand mathematical concepts which influenced the achievement of the minimum completeness criteria at SMP Muhammadiyah Pekajangan. Students who achieve minimum completeness criteria are not more than 70% of students in one class. This study aims to determine the completeness of students 'ability to understand mathematical concepts using e-learning learning based on google classroom with the help of video learning and the effectiveness of e-learning based on google classroom assisted by video lessons on students' ability to understand mathematical concepts.

This research is a quasi-experimental research with a research design that is Posttest Only Control Group Design. The population in this study were all class VIII students consisting of 4 classes. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling and 2 classes were selected, namely class VIII D as the experimental class and class VIII C as the control class. Students in the experimental class used e-learning based on google classroom assisted by video learning while students in the control class used e-learning based on assignment. Data collection methods in this study are interviews, documentation, and posttest of the ability to understand mathematical concepts. The research data were processed using the prerequisite test, completeness test (Z test), and average difference test (t test).

The results of this study indicate that (1) The ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who receive e-learning learning assisted by video learning can achieve the KKM (2) The ability to understand mathematical concepts of students who receive e-learning learning assisted by video learning is better than the ability to understand mathematical concepts. students who get assignment-based e-learning learning. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that e-learning learning assisted by video learning is effective for students' ability to understand mathematical concepts.
