Abstract

Based on research, communication skills as one of the content standards that must be achieved in learning mathematics are still relatively low. The cause can be from within the student or from outside the student. What comes from outside the student, of course, cannot be controlled. However, what comes from within students, can still be controlled by students and attempted by the teacher by providing a stimulus. Therefore, the teacher uses the Kahoot learning media as a driver to achieve students' mathematical communication skills in online mathematics learning. Therefore, this study aims to determine the achievement of indicators of students' mathematical communication skills before and after using Kahoot learning media, as well as the impact of using Kahoot learning media on students' mathematical communication skills during online learning, using descriptive qualitative research methods. The results showed that the use of Kahoot learning media had a good impact on encouraging students to communicate their mathematical ideas. Although the achievement of each indicator is not optimal before and after the use of the Kahoot learning media. The author's suggestion, to be able to see more clearly the achievement of each indicator in each student, it is necessary to conduct discussions in the form of small groups containing 3-5 people after using the Kahoot learning media.
