# PENERAPAN E-LEARNING BERBASIS SCHOOLOGY TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMAHAMAN KONSEP MATEMATIKA SISWA SMP N 1 SRAGI

### Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has now undergone significant changes in the field of education. One form of the development of information technology applied in education is *e-learning. E-learning* is made to be able to remove the limitations between teachers and students, more precisely related to time and place. One of the programs that can be used by *e-learnin*g is *schoology*. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of *Schoology-*based *E-learning* on the ability to understand mathematical concepts in grade VIII students of SMP N 1 Sragi.

This research is a quantitative research. The data collection techniques used were interviews, documentation and tests. The population in this study were all class VIII of SMP N 1 Sragi consisting of nine classes. Sampling was done by *cluster random sampling* technique, so that two classes chosen, class VIII 1 as experimental class and class VIII 2 as the control class. The prerequisite test used the normality test, the homogeneity test. Data analysis used proportion test and average difference test.

The results showed: (1) Based on the test of the proportion of the ability to understand mathematical concepts with a one-party test that the proportion of students in the class that was taught using the *E-learning* based *Schoology* model with a value ability to understand mathematical concepts ≥75 reaches completeness ≥75%. (2) Based on the average difference test that the student’s ability to understand mathematical concepts using *E-learning* based *Schoology* was better than the ability to understand mathematical concepts using *Whatsapp*. Based on the two things above, it can be concluded that the use of *E-learning* based *Schoology* model is effective in measuring the ability to understand concepts.
